A STAR-STUDDED concert celebrating the life and work of a Mexican fashion designer comes to the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall on September 3.

Hailed as one of the great pop culture fashion designers of our time, Musical Threads will celebrate Manuel Cuevas’s unmistakable stamp on the international music scene and showcase his creations in action.

Nashville’s finest artists will perform live for one night only.

Manuel, responsible for making Johnny Cash the man in black will attend this once in a lifetime evening.

Master songwriter Jim Lauderdale will host the concert with live sets from Leigh Nash, John Carter Cash, Ana Cristina, Rosie Flores and Steelism, along with a selection Tennessee session players.

Manuel has clothed some of the most iconic music stars of modern times - everyone from Elvis Presley, Gram Parsons, Johnny Cash, Emmylou Harris, Little Richard, Bob Dylan, to Neil Young, Dolly Parton, The Beatles, Aerosmith, Linda Rondstadt, Eurythmics, The Mavericks and Jack White to name but a few.

Musical Threads will honour the man that gave them all a style of their very own.

Emma Foxall, director of Monkey Mind Productions, said: “This is truly a never to miss, one off event - and includes artists that never regularly tour the UK - and who will never come together for something like this again.

“We have some real country music pedigree on the line-up and incredibly talented session musicians who are currently working with the biggest stars in Nashville.”

A special 'audience with' evening with Manuel himself, hosted by fellow designer, Wayne Hemingway MBE, also takes place at the hall on September 10.
