RESIDENTS on a Runcorn housing estate are being invited to bid for cash from a unique community fund.

From today, every household in The Grange is being asked to put forward an idea for a project that could receive up to £2,000.

It follows the success of the first round of funding provided by John Dwyer, Cheshire police and crime commissioner.

More than 700 votes were received for 10 projects to the value of £17,584 to ´Change the Grange’.

A job club, gardening projects, a lunch club and sporting activity for young people will now share this funding.

John Dwyer said: "We need ideas for projects that will benefit as many people as possible from across the community to help to make The Grange a better place for everyone.

“Hopefully, now that people are aware of the process, even more people will get involved this time around."

Whether people want to organise an activity for young people, a healthy living project, a crime prevention idea, a community art project or a street party for neighbours, the only limit is imagination.

Any resident, community group, voluntary or non-profit organisation − even informal groups of friends and neighbours − can apply for money to put their ideas into action.

To apply for the funding, the application form must be returned before Friday,  October 10, 2014.

If your idea fits, local residents will get to vote for the best ideas from November 17, 2014 until 2 December 2,  2014.

The winners will be announced on December 4, 2014 at the Grangeway Hub at 7pm.

If you can convince the community that your idea is a good one, you will get the cash.
