HALTON people with get up and go have been honoured at the sixth annual Get Active Awards in Widnes.
The event, which took place at The Select Security Stadium, was organised by Halton Borough Council and the Get Active Forum Halton and is aimed at rewarding people of all abilities who have been involved in physical activities and sports.
David Alderson scooped the main prize of the evening taking home the participant of the year award.
The 67-year-old, who lives in Hale Village, is deaf and blind and takes part in chair-based exercise classes and is always encouraging other people to take part.
John O'Hara-Mee was named volunteer of the year for his work organising health walks for groups of 25 people each week around Runcorn.
