A CALLOUS care worker who abused her position of trust by preying on vulnerable pensioners and stealing their treasured possessions is now behind bars.

Nicola Glover, of Masefield Avenue, Widnes, was sentenced to 56 months in prison at Warrington Crown Court after pleading guilty to 11 counts of burglary, four counts of fraud and one of theft.

The court heard how the 43-year-old would sneak into some of her victims' houses at night while they slept to steal their valuables to fund her drug habit.

Many of the stolen items which included precious pieces which were of sentimental value have not been recovered.
