IMAGINATIVE students brought HG Wells’ classic 1897 novel of alien invasion War of the Worlds back to life.
Pupils from Ormiston Chadwick Academy in Widnes staged an innovative interpretation at The Brindley studio on Thursday.
The drama saw a school girl called Ellen slowly realise that the people around her are subtly turning alien.
The play was part of a trilogy staged under the title of Future Past: A World at War.
Students from Ormiston Bolingbroke Academy in Runcorn performed plays on trench life in the First World War and the horrors of Auschwitz in the Second World War.
Director of drama Paul Kennedy said: "Over 45 pupils from both academies, from year seven to 11, rehearsed and performed in a professional manner to a full house.”
