A NEW interactive craft group is being launched by Widnes and Runcorn Cancer Support Group.

It starts on Monday, September 7 at 11am at the charity’s centre in Alforde Street, Widnes.

The group will be a weekly informal meeting and those joining in will have the opportunity to learn a new craft skill and make something to take home with them.

The programme begins with a jewellery making session being run by Nykie Brady.

Future activities include glass painting, decorative canvasses and stamping on card and fabric.

The group is open to anyone whose lives have been touched by cancer and is run on a drop in basis so there’s no need to book.

If crafts aren’t your thing why not pop in on a Tuesday morning at 11am for elevenses.

This is a chance to chat and enjoy some delicious cakes.

This is another very informal group which is always full of chatter and laughter.

Nicola Donoghue, the charity’s engagement co-ordinator at the charity said “There’s nothing better than having the centre full of people and really buzzing with energy.

“Our hope is to bring new people in and get them mixing with our current members which is why both events are being run on a drop in basis and are open to anyone whose life has been touched by cancer, We’re really looking forward to welcoming lots of new and existing members.”

For more details call in to the centre from Monday to Friday, 10am to 3pm or call on 0151 423 5730 or email to info@widnesandruncorncancersupport.org.uk.
