Police are appealing for help to trace a man wanted after absconding from HMP Kirkham.
Mark Roscaleer, aged 26, is believed to have connections in the Runcorn area.
DI Mike Evans said: “We have reason to suspect he may be committing crimes while he remains outstanding.
“We would urge anyone who has seen this man or knows of his whereabouts not to approach him directly but to contact police on 999.
“We are making numerous enquiries to find Roscaleer and will not stop until he is found.
“Anyone who is harbouring Roscaleer faces possible criminal charges themselves as harbouring carries up to seven years imprisonment.
“I would urge them to contact us to avoid coming to our attention.”
Anyone with information about his whereabouts can also call police on 101.
