Crews tackle fire on railway line in Widnes
FIREFIGHTERS were called to an electrical cable fire on the railway line off Hale Road in Widnes.
The alarm was raised at 7.25pm on Saturday.
A Cheshire Fire spokesman said: "When they arrived crews set up a cordon around the impacted area and liaised with Network Rail while they dealt with the fire."
Crews were also called to a grill fire in Widnes on Dean Close at 4am today, Monday.
When they arrived firefighters found that there had been a fire involving a grill but this had gone out.
Crews used a fan to clear smoke from the property.
