STAFF and students at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic College had plenty to celebrate following a boost in GCSE results.

Teachers have reported a rise in results and, following two years of hard work, staff, and governors were keen to congratulate the students.

Emily Bonnon, Claudia Ainge-Hammond, Sian McGerty, Georgia Shaw, Bethany Abraham, Chloe Beswick, Joseph Carson, Evie Hignett, Shannon Mercer, Hannah Sorvel, Sarah Jones, Ben Joseph and Sean Loftus who achieved eight or more A* and A grades.

Principal Wendy White said: "We are absolutely delighted with these results as so many students are celebrating outstanding achievement.

"In addition to seeing so many individuals making stunning progress, we have numerous departments who are getting great results year on year.

"We are so proud of the students and it's great to see their commitment and hard work pay off."

Head of college Melissa Roberts added: “It makes us extremely proud here at Saints Peter and Paul to see our students reap the rewards of all their hard work and commitment.

"This year group have been a pleasure to work with and we are thrilled that so many of them are staying on in our sixth form to carry on working with our caring and dedicated staff"
