PERFORMERS from a production company in Widnes were given the exciting opportunity to entertain the elated crowds of rugby league fans at the World Cup games this year.

Alibi Productions, located in Halton, provided performers for each of the matches played at Totally Wicked Stadium in St Helens.

The group of entertainers were given the fun task of greeting arriving fans and helping build the energy and a ‘buzz’ within the crowds throughout the games.

And with a 18,000 capacity at the stadium, which was voted the third best in the world, they had quite a job on their hands.

“It’s been a wonderful commission for us to be involved in a tournament of this size and scale,” said director of Alibi, Grace Gorst.

“We were asked for specific types of performers that would bring light and colour to the pre-match atmosphere, and the feedback we have had from attendees has been really good.”

St Helens Borough Council and Live Events Ltd also provided performers to attend each of the games.

Along with being involved in the phenomenal sporting event, you may have also seen some of Alibi’s talented performers on the East Lancashire Railway Halloween Ghost Train events this year.

And preparations are underway for members to also serve up some festive cheer at the East Lancashire Railway’s Christmas special events too in the coming months.
