THIS picture of Martin Offiah scoring a hat-trick against Saints on Easter Monday, 1988, paints a thousand words.

That day Offiah was unstoppable - with the kids running on from the Cow Shed behind the goal having more luck in slowing the prolific wing down than any Saints defender.

He had sheer pace and instinct of where to pop up - and once he was clear, it was pointless chasing.

Offiah, in his first season in rugby league after signing from Rosslyn Park, was the find of the decade - crossing for 40 plus tries.

Offiah was chaired off by Chemics supporters at the end - the win over Saints leaving them with the formality of beating Hunslet at Elland Road to clinch the title.
