A PLEA has been issued by Cheshire Fire Service following a deliberate fire started on a building due for renovation.

Four fire crews were called to the shocking scene on Stockham Lane last Wednesday (March 13), following reports of a ‘deliberate’ blaze.

Firefighters worked through the evening to distinguish the flames in the building which was confirmed to be set for renovation.

Due to the excessive smoke, residents were even asked to close their windows and doors and to avoid the area.

Nearly a week on from the incident, Runcorn Fire Station have taken to twitter with a plea to the public to help prevent the costly disaster from happening again.
