TWO men have been arrested after warrants were executed by police at addresses in Runcorn.

Officers raided several properties in the town as part of a crackdown on drug supply in the town.

Among those raided by Cheshire Police in the early hours of this morning, Thursday, were homes on Gaunts Way and Whinfell Grove

A 21-year-old man and an 18-year-old man were subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B drugs.

The force says that both men are currently in custody assisting officers with their enquiries, with a quantity of class B drugs also seized during the warrants.

Leading the operation, sergeant Steven Sanson said: “The warrants today are a great result for Runcorn, sending a clear message to residents that the sale of illegal drugs will not be tolerated.

“These warrants come off the back of information from the community, demonstrating that we act upon the information we receive.

“Intelligence supplied by members of the public is crucial to this fight, and I urge anyone with any information about suspected drug related activity in their community to get in touch.

“We will continue to tackle drug dealing and organised crime in Runcorn and elsewhere in Cheshire head on, utilising all the resources at our disposal."

Anyone with any information in relation to illegal drug activity in their community is urged to report it to Crimestoppers anonymously by calling 0800 555 111 or visiting cheshire.police.uk/ro/report/
