CAR park prices at Walton Gardens are set to increase.

From June, visitors will have to pay more to use the pay and display car park, which is owned by Warrington Borough Council, at Walton Hall and Gardens.

WBC says that the last price variation occurred in 2017 and that the cost has now been increased to take into account ‘inflationary pressures’ since the date.

A spokesperson for the council said: “Following a review of the current charging regime, a proposal has been submitted to revise the scale of charges at Walton Hall pay and display car park.

“The last variation occurred in 2017 and after careful consideration a further variation has been proposed to ensure the car park takes into account inflationary pressures since this date.”

The new tariffs are as follows:

On weekdays, the price for cars is now £3.50 instead of £3.

On weekends/bank holidays, the price for cars is now £4.50 instead of £4.

On weekdays, the price for coaches is now £10 instead of £8.

On weekends/bank holidays, the price for coaches is now £10 instead of £8.

The release fee remains at £90.

Failure to display a valid ticket during charging hours or parking in contravention to the conditions of the car park may result in a Penalty Charge Notice of £50 or £70 being issued.

The amount payable is dependent on the severity of the contravention, which can be reduced by 50 per cent if payment is received within 14 days of the issue of the Penalty Charge Notice or within 21 days for Penalty Charge Notices issued by post.
