Day two - Kitarasa. On the way to the school both teams stopped off at the builder’s merchants to get more materials.
On the 12km journey to school we passed through a very busy market. It was very hustle and bustle.
During the day we took pictures of the work we were doing and the children seemed very, very interested, so we invited them over and no sooner had a dozen come there was over a hundred surrounding us.
We also gave the school two footballs for the students. Ste Bounds played football with the students and was left tired and hot after chasing after the ball for half an hour while they kicked it around him.
Day two – Kyakatara. We went to builders merchants on the back of a Toyota pick-up truck.
On the 20km drive to the school we passed by acres upon acres of tea plantations and beautiful greenery. The plantation actually supply Chester & District Housing Trust. Whilst we were walking over to the stores some of the team saw a group of children dancing and singing, they walked over and then they performed for them. The performance was musical, energetic and vibrant – and really moving.
