This North One West league game at Powder House Lane was abandoned after 59 minutes after a Vale of Lune player suffered a serious injury.
After a lengthy delay, the game was called off by the referee, with the result of the game not expected to stand and will have to be re-played at a later date.
Up until that point, the game had been a wide open affair.
Vale took the lead with a try from Hesketh, before Tom Spencer replied with a try in the corner converted by Kevin Leadbetter who also added a penalty.
A penalty try on 30 minutes regained the lead again for Vale, before Andy O’Neill raced 60 metres to get the visitors back in front again.
Scrum half, Swarbrick sneaked over for the home side on 56 minutes before proceedings were brought to a premature close.
