RUNCORN Linnets Football Club are holding a Corporate Team Golf Competition at Runcorn Golf Club on Friday, July 31.

Although it is geared at attracting interest from local businesses, entry is open to all.

The 18-hole Stableford event will welcome teams of four with tee times from 11am-2pm.

There will be various sponsored holes and competitions within the main tournament. Sponsorship of individual holes is available at £50 per hole.

Entry is £200 per team, including coffee and light lunch on arrival and a two-course dinner.

First prize for the winning team is golfing equipment from the Runcorn professional with prizes also for the runners-up and third-placed team.

Linnets vice-chairman Hedley Edwards, a past captain of Runcorn Golf Club, said: "We are hoping that local busineses will support this venture but we would obviously like to see members of Runcorn and other local golf clubs and societies taking part.

"We would also welcome golfers among our own supporter base who would like to chip in to this very important fundraiser for the football club.

"Runcorn is an attractive and challenging 18-hole course and we are sure that all golfers will enjoy playing it."

Situated on Clifton Road, less than three miles from the M56, Runcorn Golf Club is also highly accessible to golfers from across the North West and North Wales who fancy tackling a different course.

The parkland course is noted for its natural surroundings, including water hazards running throughout, and also the superb tree lines defining each hole. The course measures 6,000+ yards and is a fair and enjoyable test for any level of golfer.

A very well-appointed and comfortable clubhouse plus excellent catering will ensure that visiting the 19th hole will be an equally pleasurable experience on the day.
