TOM Jackson will be wearing Widnes Wild colours again next season.

The 20-year-old from Glossop says he thinks he has a lot to offer the group.

He said: "I’m excited to be back for my 3rd season with Widnes.

"There is such a great atmosphere within the team at the minute and I can’t wait to get the season underway.

"Being a D-man I think I can bring a lot to the team, being there to support my line mates is the main thing."

And he thinks the club's supporters can play a huge part in a successful campaign.

He said: "Our main aim as a club is to be the league leaders. We have a fantastic amount of support from all the Wild Ones and we’re looking for them to continue with that support that will help us focus more."

To the fans, he said: "Thank you so much for the support over the last 2 years.

"I hope myself and the team can give you something back this year by bringing home the title.

"Keep up the brilliant support."

Head coach Scott McKenzie believes the best is still to come from Jackson and feels Wild's D core is going to be a strong asset.

He said: "Tom is a really strong D-man that is young and willing to learn. I’m looking for him to listen and really buy into what I’m asking of him and work hard for the Wild this season.

"We have one more D-man to announce which will give us more size. I think our D core will be a really tough group to play against. We will be organised and hard to break down."
