Burtonwood scored after an uneventful start, from a long throw when Ben Brown pitched it to the near post for Craig Spurling to flick it in the net 1-0, and the visitors led at the break.

Halton put Burtonwood under pressure for twenty minutes only for Burtonwood to score on the break with Dixon finishing well from a tight angle.

The next was virtually identical, with Alex Briscoe on eighty minutes finishing well.

The game finished 1-3 when Halton scored a penalty in the last min when Burtonwood’s keeper Lee Dixon was judged to have brought down their striker.

Premier Division: St Michaels DH 1 Avon Athletic 0.

Closely contested derby match.

Both teams had a few chances in the first half but could not break the deadlock. 0-0 at half time.

St Michael's started the second half the better of the two teams and in the fifty fifth minute fullback Matty Fisher picked up the ball, went past two players and shot low from 25 yards and the ball went in off the post to give advantage to the home side.

St Michael's kept up the momentum looking defensively sound and this was tested in the last five minutes when Avon applied a lot of pressure with four corners one after the other which seen the goalkeeper up to try and but St Michaels stood firm and took the 3 points.
