VIKINGS head coach Denis Betts has been fined £500 and warned about his future conduct following comments he made after his side’s 18-16 defeat to Wakefield.
Betts slammed the performance of referee Joe Cobb as “the worst he had seen in 30 years” after a game which saw Aaron Heremaia sent off, with Patrick Ah Van, Lloyd White and Stefan Marsh all serving time in the sin bin.
£250 of the fine will be suspended until the end of the 2017 season and will become payable should he be convicted of a similar breach of Operational Rules.
Betts has 14 days in which to submit an appeal.
