IN glorious weather at Oulton Park, Runcorn’s Steven Parker raced his 2.5 litre BMW Compact in the CNC Heads Sports/Saloon Championship and was hoping to consolidate his third place in the overall class championship.
A good qualifying session saw him at the front of his class with a two-second gap over the second place car, but more importantly four seconds ahead of the two championship leaders.
In the actual championship race, his category rivals did not have the pace to keep with Parker as he finished first in his group but also gained the fastest lap for his class.
The points earned moved him up to second in the championship and only one point behind the championship leader.
