RUNCORN Linnets are delighted to announce that the Millbank Linnets Stadium has been chosen by Liverpool Football Club to stage a forthcoming fixture involving a Reds Academy team.

LFC Under 16s will entertain Derby County on Monday, September 19th (ko 7pm). Spectators are welcome and admission is free.

This is one of three initial games at different age groups allocated by Liverpool to local non-league venues.

Conor Barry, Academy secretary at Liverpool, said: "The competition is called the Bladies Cup which is organised by Sheffield United.

"The aim of the competition is to play at non-league grounds under the floodlights to give the players a different experience from playing at the Academy."

A Linnets spokesman said: "We hope that both teams enjoy the unique atmosphere of the MLS."

The Linnets' ground, opened in 2010, is at Murdishaw Avenue, Runcorn, WA7 6HP and has covered areas for seating and standing.
