IF you are a player, manager, family member or supporter of the football or rugby teams that play weekend matches at Runcorn’s Heath Park playing fields then this plea is aimed at you.
Our local council has done an excellent job working with partners to turn the playing fields and Runcorn Hill into a vibrant and fantastic outdoor space.
The latest addition being paths that encircle the whole park and playing fields, allowing us all to walk, run and generally enjoy being outside.
It is however so sad and disappointing to see all of the empty water and soft drink bottles strewn all around the touchlines of the playing fields, obviously left by local teams and players with total disregard to the lovely space around them.
I find it amazing that these sports people who so obviously care about their health and wellbeing choose to vandalise the environment that they live in.
