JUST to make your readers aware of a phone scam purporting to be from BT internet.
I received a call today from a lady who said she was from BT.
Apparently I was having a problem with security on my BT Wi-Fi and she was going to assist me with it.
I found this really unusual as I don’t have BT Wi-Fi, so I asked for her name and details.
She said her name and her phone number. I then asked for more details including her address.
At this point she said it’s BT and asked me why I wanted to know. Suddenly she went deaf and put the phone down.
Research shows this to be a scam.
Please warn your readers as they sound very convincing and just prey on the vulnerable in our society.
